HAHAHA Well... I was at a bookstore today looking through some mags to build up the mental library. My goal today was to draw draw draw, and not worry about a finished product, until I got back to the pad. I didn't think I would carry the pic this far. I wanted to push something new that I don't normally do, which is including real people in my gallery. Here we have Allen Iverson from the Sixers basketball team. Yeah, I know, I have to work on the resemblance, but that was not my intent, but I thought it might be close enough to follow through with it. I referenced this pic from the April edition of 'SLAM'.
Hope y'all digs! Art: Sean "Cheeks" Galloway Comments

I'm a huge basketball-fan though and I remember loving to draw my old-school heroes back in the days when I was a teenager. I was talking with somebody on a forum about that not too long ago and wanted to tackle the subjec in a drawing one of those days, so it's funny you did this now... ...and how WELL you did this!! The pose is just smoothely cool, you really feel his ballhandling-skillz jumping right at ya!! As always, your work is very inspiring!! Keep it up! Me digs all so far... -- "There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot." (Steven Wright) I love everything about this pic; the colours, motion and expression (I don't follow basketball, so resemblance doesn't exactly bother me, as I don't know who he is, anyway), but the logo in the background looks a fair bit too pixelated and blown up for my tastes.
Anyway, I'm faving it Inspirng as always. |
