I find it interesting that in this new critique system there is a category for "Impact". That was the first thing that struck me about this piece. Kuta's vibrancy on desaturated, monochromatic background creates a very powerful impact.

By combining a line-art only background, a faded full-color figure, and a full-color figure, Sean has balanced many elements into a layered composition that doesn't feel strained.

There are only two issues I take with the image. One is the bit of ground that Kuta is standing on. It appears to be at a lower res than every other element in the image and is a little distracting. The other is the choice in title font. I really like the font for the copyright call out but I feel the title feels a little too "stock".

These are small gripes in what I feel is a brilliant composition with a simplicity that belies it's complexity.
